Healing the World through Song

“Soon everyone had heard the stories, and even the gods of old began to look up to Dalùna. Her music had achieved what their many powers combined could not: To bring lasting peace, unity, and harmony.”
Viscount Élinn Grescott: The Aftermath of the Wars of Ascension

Duo Dalùna takes its name from Dalùna Enariel, the Goddess of Music in the fantasy universe of The Chronicles of the Phoenix by Remy Burnens. In the lore, the legendary elven bard is said to have travelled all across the Seven Kingdoms, bringing joy and unity through her music. Everywhere she performed she healed the souls and spirits of the people who had suffered in a time of hardship and uncertainty.

Swiss artists Clémence Hirt and Remy Burnens have ben working together since 2018. After participating in several competitions and having to cancel a first recital tour due to covid, the duo released their first album « A Song in the Wood » on Swiss label Prospero Classical. It featured a varied programe of English songs from the early 20th century, most notably by Benjamin Britten and Michael Head. They recieved the 3rd prize at the first edition of the International Lied competition « Bolko von Hochberg » in Görlitz in 2022, and were semi-finalists in both the Concours Lili et Nadia Boulanger in Paris, and Concours International de Musique de Chambre in Lyon.

They are regular guests at chamber music and Lied festivals in Switzerland, performing among others at Das Lied Bern, Liedrezital Zurich, the Rhone Festival für Liedkunst in Brig, the Suvretta House in St. Moritz and the Schubertiade d’Espace 2 in Fribourg. Recitals have brought them around Switzerland and Germany.

About us

Young Swiss Tenor Remy Burnens is finding regular success on the opera and concert stages across Switzerland and Germany. Often praised for his exhilarating coloratura, brilliant high notes, his velvety timbre and immaculate diction, he feels equally at ease in the world of opera, oratorio and lied. He studied voice with Peter Brechbühler in Lucerne and Malcolm Walker in Paris. Masterclasses with Raul Giménez and Filippo Morace furthered his musical education.

Pianist Clémence Hirt was born in Fribourg, Switzerland. She specializes in vocal accompaniment and works as a repetiteur and collaboratibe pianist across Switzerland.

Clémence Hirt takes great pleasure in performing Lied and art song. She works with various singers, like tenor Remy Burnens (Duo Dalùna), countertenor Charles Sudan or soprano Sandrine Droin (Duo Quiproquo). She plays with various choirs and musicians, among them the swiss youth choir, conducted by Nicolas Fink. She co-founded the operetta company Fri’Bouffes, which encourages young singers to rediscover the mostly unknown repertoire from the interwar period. In 2025, the pianist worked at the Music High School in Geneva as a collaborative pianist.
